The Makita UR012GZ04 80Vmax Brushless Brush Cutter XGT Bare Unit is powered by two 40Vmax XGT Li-Ion batteries in series. It features an electronic current limiter to protect against overload, along with soft start technology and an electric brake. It has three speed options (Hi/Med/Lo), and constant speed control.

It can also be operated in forward and reverse modes to dislodge any grass clippings that have become stuck. It is rated IPX4 for water resistance and is compatible with a wide range of blades. The cutter has Active Feedback Sensing Technology to shut the tool down if the rotation speed slows down suddenly, and Automatic Torque Drive Technology which alters the cutting speed to meet the load condition.
